It's official: Emil Wernsdorf Madsen in THW Kiel from 2024!
THW Kiel is advancing its plans for the future with the addition of backcourt player Emil Wernsdorf Madsen, who will join the reigning German champions starting from the 2024/2025 season. The 22-year-old top scorer in the Machineseeker EHF Champions League and the Danish league, will make the switch from double winners GOG in Denmark to the Zebras, signing a four-year contract until June 30, 2028.
Szilagyi: "The ideal choice for the right backcourt"
"He is the ideal choice for the right backcourt. To call Emil simply a tremendous talent would be an understatement" said THW managing director Viktor Szilagyi, expressing his excitement about Emil Madsen.
"His development curve is skyrocketing, as reflected in his impressive numbers in the Champions League and the domestic league. Despite being only 22 years old, Emil takes responsibility and impresses with his game understanding, explosiveness, and hunger for goals. His determination and willingness to play for THW Kiel and prove himself regularly in front of 10,000 spectators have particularly impressed us. That is exactly what we need in Kiel." - said Viktor Szilagyi
"THW Kiel is one of the biggest clubs in the world and holds incredible allure, a true aura. It has always been my goal to play regularly in the Kiel Arena with its many fans," said Emil Wernsdorf Madsen.
