Shock for hosts: Spain finished as third!
Sweden had great start with the 7 wins at World Championship. Brazil, Hungary, Portugal, Iceland and Egypt fell in order and when everyone thought that this team is ready for the final, they failed the most. At the end, just the 4th place for hosts.
One gets the impression that Sweden could and should done more. France completely outplayed Sweden in Semi-final which played without it's true leader and best player Jim Gottfridsson, who left the field against Egypt due to injury. Sweden recieved many goals from the line players. Ludovic Fabregas scored 6, while Tournat scored 4 goals.
After defeat in the semi-finals, there was a new shock for the home team. They also managed to lose against Spain even though they led 22:18 at halftime. Same tactics again, they were completely outplayed on the line like against the France. Adria Figueras scored as many as 9 goals and when we add Alex Dujshebaev's great performance, Spain's victory is well deserved. The Spaniards proved once again that they should not be written off.
